I decided that I needed to get another one after realizing that it would be nice to have my own gun to shoot the TATA and TCA matches. If the gun has a one-piece forearm mount bar, I'd leave it w/o the barrel band unless I had a 'shooter grade' forearm to install along with the band. Gun Parts Corp has the barrel band listed on their parts list for the Thompson and it was listed as available only a short while ago.
