rsilvers
Video, please note this Thompson I just got seems to have the wrong bolt in it. Where can I buy a proper early M1 bolt? RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE TO DISK
John Jr
http://www.sarcoinc.com/tho.html (dude, that ROF on the Thompson is absurd to say the least. Thats over 1000 RPM. Hang onto that 42!)

Walter63a
It is amazing that they still allow full-auto in the liberal bastion of Massachusetts. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif That was a very nice film of some great weapons. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif So, I gather you are something of a military firearms collector. full auto 45
Great video. Holy crap, what were you firing out of that M1? Was that factory ammo or re-loads? I don't think I have ever seen a M1 fire that fast! And yes those 42's will try to run away from you!
rsilvers
Belt fed was an XMG upper on an m16 lower.
savingmypesos
I am a WWII buff as well. That was one of the coolest videos I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing.
SecondAmend
Or, perhaps, a bolt meant to be used with a blank adapter?
Norm
That M1 seems to have some "violent" recoil. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif I would try another bolt! I would check the buffer also. Great video! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Norm
rsilvers
The M1 was firing 45 ACP. Just cause I can hold it steady does not mean it was firing .22! Here is my bolt -- has it been lightened or something? http://www.photomosaic.com/gns/bolt-877_7710.jpg http://www.photomosaic.com/gns/bolt-877_7711.jpg http://www.photomosaic.com/gns/bolt-877_7712.jpg
Arthur Fliegenheimer
RS, Skip the Blaster ammo and the Kozlowsky Gunmachines speed bolt before the receiver branches off into two seperate entities. You wouldn't pay $150 for S&H&I of your M1 to PK in Colorado to check out the problems? You gotta pay more than that for your German Shepherd's yearly supply of "NUPRO." rsilvers
My GSD eats Fromm's Duck and Sweet Potato. My bolt weighs 781 grams. Is that normal? (27.5 ounces). What is a "Kozlowsky Gunmachines" speedbolt? Edited July 18, 2004 by rsilvers
Arthur Fliegenheimer
RS, Wow! Never heard of that food. But if it works, it works. I feed my Czech Republic Import GSD Solid Gold Millennium and the Nupro powder. Stuff is killer! He looks very similar to the coloring of your dog, but better proportioned. Sorry, but I am prejudiced! Koslowsky (his Trinidad, Colorado Company was called "Gunmachines") made lightened bolts and actuators using G.I parts for TSMG's back in the 90's. rsilvers
Solid Gold/Fromms/Innova -- there are several good foods. http://www.photomosaic.com/albums/Phonix/875_7505.sized.jpg http://www.puplife.com/cgi-bin/plugins/Miv...uct_Code=01FFDS Do you think I really have a speed bolt? I posted photos. Frank seems to think my bolt looks correct. I figured it was light but now I don't know what to think.
Arthur Fliegenheimer
RS, My post on the Koslowsky bolt crossed your photo post. But your Savage bolt may have been lightened(?) and the combination of the ammo you were using could account for the higher ROF. Do you use the winch set up for your hund to pull the Hummer out of swamps?
rsilvers
Yes, the winch has rescued me before. Another time I got stuck at low tide and the vehicle was submerged to the steering wheel before two tow trucks could pull me out. I also once rolled it but the roof hit a tree and it did not flip all the way over. I still have a dent on the edge of the roof.
rsilvers
My bolt is 781 grams. I am waiting for someone to tell me the weight of a known-good bolt. Frank seems to think it might *just* be the ammo. Do I want a Wolff extra-power recoil spring? I have to order a new firing pin anyway -- mine just broke. gijive
RS, It looks to me like your bolt has been lightened. I see some grinding marks and a relief cut on the side that I haven't seen before. I have seen some M1 bolts that have the relief cut at the top like yours, but not on the side. Whatever, the rate of fire is too fast for an M1. I'd be a little concerned about putting undo stress on your receiver. Order a bolt from IMA or some other source and I think you'll see the difference in a side-byside comparison. 21 smoker
I think the XMG is the sleeper on the MG market....lots of fun for money...plus all the cool stuff to go along with the 34....definitely a bargin in the NFA world...makes for a cool video too... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
full auto 45
It does appear the bolt has been cut down some. I don't have a scale or I could tell you the weight of mine. Here is what a M1 normally fires at. Yours is much faster. M1 Video
John Jr
That XMG is up pretty high on my list. Rsilvers, does yours jam a lot? Jr
rsilvers
Not my XMG, but I did not see it jam. I don't have one. I have MG42s.
