Wtk Approximate Value For Authentic Colt 1927 Thom

Recommended Posts

For all you guys who were so kind as to share your knowledge and opinions about the 1927 and were curious as to where it resides I've posted a picture of its home over at photobucket.

By the way, if someone would educate me as to how to post pictures directly into these board messages I would be pleased to do so.

Thanks again

Bob

DXDunner,

OK, now I feel inferior! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif

Nice collection and BIG too!

To make an image appear from photobucket, just look under the photo(s) you wan to post and copy the info in "IMG" section.

Simply paste it to the post and it should appear.

You really need to share some photos of those other goodies you have hanging on the wall! I'm sure others would be interested also!

QUOTE (PhilOhio @ Jul 10 2006, 12:58 AM)
O.K., the one I saw at last year's TCA shoot belonged to Tom Pendergast, who lives near Leesburg, VA, I believe. Very nice guy. Don't have his E-mail handy. That was the only 1927 I have ever seen up close. Beautiful.

Tom passed away on April 21 of this year. He was a very nice guy who helped me a bunch on questions.

Now that I've been educated as to posting links to images so the images appear here I'm posting an image of the Gun Room.

Thoughts, comments or observations are welcome.

DXDunner,

Is this the room you talk to your daughter's date while she getting ready! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Man, if that wouldn't make a guy respect your daughter, nothing will.

I can just see it now...

"Have seat son, I just want to ask you a few questions before I let take my daughter out on a date...."

Now that's a room to sit in to do a few shots of nice burbon. If that wouldn't make you mellow, nothing will.

Of course, no collection is complete without Gas-Gun! (AKA Flame Thrower!)

DXDunner,

Judging by your game room, you're hardly a novice NFA firearms collector. Considering there are at least 5 1921/28 Colt(?) TSMG''s visible on the wall, denoting familiarity with these smg's, your query as to the value of a 1927 seems rather perfunctory. Were you thinking of adding the Colt 1927 to your collection, have you already added it, or are you selling it?

Arthur:

Sorry 'bout the partial post -- hit the wrong button; so trying again . . .

If the truth be known; I was fortunate to be first involved with NFA devices many years ago when sex was safe, motorcycles were dangerous and NFA "stuff" was reasonably priced. Indeed my DD and Class 3 goes back to 1978 (was there a 1978??) when one could afford this stuff.

Unfortunately, all the NFA "stuff" was crated away in warehouses while I spent years fighting the battles of Corporate America. Only recently have I had the opportunity to design and build a 1600 sq. ft. underground Vault and Gun Room with its own underground firing range. So most (there is only room for half to two-thirds of the "stuff") of it can now be out (well, relatively out, because all displays are inside the underground vault) where it can be seen and appreciated. (All the cabinets you see are full of NFA devices which I'm hoping to cycle through the displays).

I didn't mean to be cute with my inquiry regarding the 1927. Yes, it is on the wall right under the fully engraved 1921AC which until recently nobody, apparently, knew about. But, having been out of it for some years now I wanted value opinions from the RKIs on this board so I made the first post in this thread.

Again, I really solicit your thoughts, comments and observations.

If anyone has questions about the Vault Gun Room I'll try to answer them.

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Holy S#!t ! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif

There's more!

Tell me, is all of this stuff transferable or are they "pre-may" dealer samples?

To say your room is impressive is an understatement.

Tell me, what SMGs or MGs do you NOT have?

Thanks for letting us know there are still huge collections out there. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif

DXDunner,

Nice room. My hats off to “your” room.

Do you have a lot of Colt Thompson accessories? Literature?

Are you familiar with Gordon Herigstad?
