Efile approvals are getting shorter

I just received the approved form 4 on a suppressor I did in December of last year,  slightly less than 8 months. The last two were 9 months, so things are moving in the right direction.

I made a big dump of 13 (big for me) Form 4's in June, I'll be interested to see how long they take.

You lost the month of June to the deluge of SBR Form 1s that were filed just before the May 31 cutoff date so figure on 9-10 months.  IIRC at some point in the last couple of months I did a status check on my Form above and was told they were averaging 270 days which would tend to confirm that

Yeah, Scott, I'll call them up  and tell them what a good guy you are and to put you first in line, I'm sure my influence will get approvals within days. I'll tell them the 'big guy' said do it.  (rolling my eyes)

4 or 3? My 4's are still outstanding. I called and ATF said there was a delay in FBI background checks. One year and counting.....

Today I was notified that my E-Form 4 that I filed on 10 October was approved.
That is just shy of 5 months, or 177 days.
Last one was 6 months.
Both were done with .EFT filed fingerprints.
At the ATF meeting at the Shot Show the NFA division head did promise that the processing times were going down as they got more staff trained.

Even if the he addition of the .eft files didn't shorten the process they are still the biggest improvement in years just for the reduced hassle in filing

Of course I hate you both. I wonder why I'm taking so long!

So, funny story.
Today had me quite tied down at work, so much so that at lunch time I didn't head over to my transferring dealer to collect the above mentioned approved transfer.
At days end I noticed another e-mail from the NFA branch with another approval!
This was another form 4 that I had completely e-filed ( with .EFT files, etc ) on 09/28/2023.
It was approved 02/02/2024, that is just 128 days.
So, the NFA division chief does seem to be making processing faster.
