2ndArmored
They are out of stock in far more calibers than they have in inventory.
JimFromFL
Wow. $950 for 1,000 rounds of 9mm.Hell, if anyone wants to pay me $950 for 1,000 rounds of 9mm I too would be happy to ship for free.
StrangeRanger
A search engine like ammoseek.com or bulkcheapammo.com is a much better source because they look at multiple vendors. Unfortunately they show nearly everything as out of stock and what isn't out of stock is ridiculously overpriced.
Oldtrooper
I had a guy do some mechanic work for me last week and he asked if I could pay him in ammunition instead of cash.
TSMGguy
I'm seeing people in my neck of the woods curtailing their shooting because of ammunition and component prices and scarcity. Ammo that was easily obtained for not much for blasting purposes is now being hoarded. I noticed SG Ammo's price for a 1,000 rd. carton of Russian Golden Tiger 7.62x39mm FMJBT go from $220 to $349 in a short period of time.

DZelenka
I had a guy do some mechanic work for me last week and he asked if I could pay him in ammunition instead of cash.I have an old receivable for legal work owed by a gun manufacturer. I told him I would take 5.56 at $1.00 per round for it. Helps him. Helps me.
maxfaxdude
This is exactly why I stocked up ammo BIGTIME about 6 months after Trump won the election.

StrangeRanger
It's not that the bargain prices are gone; it's the scalpers crawling out from under their rocks with 300% markups that are pissing me off.
Tiz
Ammo manufacturers are running 24/7 but many have large military and government agency orders to fill first. Be patient thing should ease up, but I am afraid the bargain day s are over.
StrangeRanger
I just bought 200 rounds of PPU 7.63 Mauser ammo for my C96 Broomhandle at 50¢ per round. So small quantities of boutique ammo for an antique pistol cost less per round than 9 Para or .45 ACP bought in bulk. What is wrong with this picture?
johnsonlmg41
It's been an ammo bonanza in the last 2 weeks for me. I've picked up over 20K rounds .308 Izzy, .308 linked ball and 4:1 LC, 30-06 in spam cans on garand clips, 30 carbine in spam cans (usgi), all at .40 and under. We call it looter food. Last month it was crate of 4 boxes fur MG in the cardboard 300 round battle packs. That was .50Ammo is coming out of the woodwork. We will have some of this and .223 for sale locally in SE WI Edited October 5, 2020 by johnsonlmg41
firearm
Cry all you want about ammo prices. I think they are going up. Not down. All the surplus will dry up shortly. There are no more lead producing plants left in the USA. All shut down by the EPA. It all has to be imported now. At the stroke of a pen, the State Department can ban importation of lead bullets. Can you spell "Non-Sporting" or whatever they come up with? Add to that the fact that "Sleepy Joe" actually has a chance at getting elected (really they want Harris) and ammo is dirt cheap right now. The demand from "us", L.E., inflation, and the federal taxes that will be implemented on it will drive the price through the roof. I am thinking that ammo might be a better investment than gold......... Edited October 6, 2020 by firearm
wv1928
SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS, CAN'T SEE THE SMALL PRINT. I HAD TO CALL MY BROTHER IN LAW IN CA. JUST TO GET 45ACP BULLETS 230GR.. HE GOT A THOUSAND FOR ME AND IS SHIPPING THEM TO IN. I HAD CHECKED WITH ALL MY OLD WHOLESALERS AN NONE HAD ANY IN STOCK. I SEARCHED ON LINE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS FOR THE BULLETS. Vettom
I bought a lot of 22LR for plinking, small game etc. Since I can reload, I do have a supply on hand to load 9MM 45ACP and can go load faster once I get my new to me Dillons working. I have a bunch of commercial hardened cast 45ACP but won't run that in my Thompson but that load runs great in my Glocks. I bought a bunch of ammo calibers before all this hit, so how much ammo is enough to keep on hand? I don't know but ammo vs. precious metals, metals win that one. Too much Eagle Scout still in me I guess. Awww come on man; ole Sleepy Joe wouldn't do anything to disrupt the 2A..... This isn't about ole Joe. You don't have to wonder to much about a so called democRAT party that floats a guy with cognitive impairment as a candidate for POTUS. It's all the brown shirts waiting behind the curtain you better be worried about. November 4th, may be our next Day of Infamy, IMHO. This is do or die for them and they they won't accept a Trump win. These good Marxist/commies need to learn that making life choices can have severe consequences and these treasonous players and so called peaceful protestors may find that one out the hard way after November 4th 2020. Tiz
I have lots of powder, primers, brass and at lest a 1,000 pounds of lead. It appears I will be back to casting my own pro-joes if I can't buy em.

BPinFL
I have been giving and selling at my cost ammo and mags from my stash to the young guys I shoot with that don't have enough to keep their guns running. Also helping them sight in and practice. Paying it forward, if you will. I want all my fellow gunners to be ready and able, if need be. BP
